By reading the last IP address and Hostname, you can see if your mail has been accessed without your permission. # What is an IP address and a Hostname? By reading the last IP address (e.g. 24.44.179.176) and Hostname (e.g. ool-182cb3b0.dyn.optonline.net), you can see if your mail has been accessed without your permission. Even though most computers are provided a Hostname, some are not. # Things to notice after login: - the date/time you last accessed webmail ... is this correct? - the IP/Hostname you last accessed webmail from ... is this correct? # What should I do if *any* of the login access information is suspect? You should immediately change your password and send mail to Systems Abuse informing them that an unauthorized person(s) may be accessing your account. -Student Password Change Also you may write to NBCS HelpDesk for assistance or contact the Help Desk at 732-445-HELP (4357). # Where can I login into Webmail? You can go to Rutgers Webmail and select your role as Faculty, Staff or Student with the correct campus. |
