10/30/2012: 7:30pm - Utility Power Restored to Busch Campus / Hill CenterUpdate 7:30pm - Utility power was restored around 3:30pm today, and we have been off generator power since about 3:35pm. At 7:30pm grid power continued to be stable and hopefully will continue in that mode. We will continue to monitor the situation and are ready to resume an emergency power configuration if required. ______________________________________________________ Update 2:45pm - The generator fuel tanks have been topped off. We expect one more delivery later today. If things continue as planned we should have sufficient fuel to get us well into tomorrow morning at which time we will deal with things according to current conditions. So far the machine room has continued to operate without unplanned service interruptions, and that should continue as long as the fuel is flowing. ________________________________________________________ 10/26/2012 Updated 07:10pm : Hill Center Data Center Preparations for Hurricane SandyHill Center Machine Room Occupants and Interested Parties, Please see the information below regarding Hill Center Data Center preparations for the impending storm due early next week. If you have not already done so, you may subscribe to the hill_data_center_updates Mailman mailing list with a reliable, external email address. In the unlikely event of a full outage of the data center, we will be using that for communicating status. Here is a link for how to subscribe: http://andromeda.rutgers.edu/mailman/listinfo/hill_data_center_updates The Hill Center diesel generator is fueled and ready to go. Based on the current building load of 750 kW, that should provide between 16 & 18 hours of generator run-time between refueling with about an hour of battery backup time should we exhaust our supply before we've had a chance to refuel. We have procedures in place to arrange for refueling from either our primary or backup provider. This does not guarantee, however, that we will be able to get fuel when needed if roads are impassable or otherwise shutdown.
